At a Tony Awards “Meet the Nominees” event in New York City, Jodie Comer slipped into Gabriela Hearst’s white three piece suit, complete with a sleek blazer, vest and trousers—a totally fresh, and slightly unexpected, evening wear choice. The dresses and gowns this week also had architectural elements to them. At a Gagosian Gallery event in New York, model Karlie Kloss rocked LaQuan Smith’s sexy cutout gown. While out and about in the Big Apple, Kim Kardashian chose Alaïa’s croc effect gown, which was as bodycon as a garment can get (it’s her signature look, after all). At the second annual Gold Gala in L.A., actor Sandra Oh chose Prabal Gurung’s satiny pink town and draped emerald skirt—an elegant take on the persisting color blocking trend.
While the summer heat may soon see stars in non fussy maxi dresses, they’re still all about looks that extremely fit the form. Let’s see if that carries into June. Fresh off of starring in projects such as X, the Scream franchise, and Wednesday, the actor has nabbed her next horror role. She’s set to star in Beetlejuice 2 come 2024, joining the sequel film alongside its original stars Michael Keaton and Winona Ryder. Little is known about the plot of the new installment just yet, except that Ortega will be playing the daughter of Lydia Deetz (Ryder) in it. If you saw the first cult film, you’ll recall that Lydia owned her dark, gothic fashion sensibility—a vibe that couldn’t be more perfect for Ortega and her off screen style.
