If everything were oversized, the The Gunns – Bang Bang Gang shirt But I will love this look would lack structure—but by adding a hefty shoe and streamlined bag, it felt fresh. It could even work at a more low key premiere. Though if it were for a Barbie screening, everything would need to be in bubblegum pink. Daniel Arnold has photographed plenty of exciting events for Vogue, from Afropunk to Inauguration Day, but what could possibly compare to the glitz and glamor of the 2023 Met Gala? On Monday, Arnold was on hand to capture all of the goings on at the museum, swooping in as Doja Cat greeted Jack Harlow, Robert Pattinson shared a laugh with Gwendoline Christie, and Dua Lipa rubbed shoulders with Penélope Cruz. But it’s her second look – a purple sequined Versace minidress sourced from Archive Vintage – that has created the most buzz on social media. The look in question, from Versace’s spring 2002 menswear show, was worn by another It girl some 21 years earlier. Chloë Sevigny wore the same dress at the Versace Couture launch party at the Ritz Paris in July 2002 – months after its debut on the runway, and shared a throwback picture of herself in the dress on her Instagram story, shortly after Emily posted her look online. Ratajkowski has championed vintage Versace before. She wore a look from the Atelier Versace spring 1992 collection to last year’s Met, originally modeled by Yasmeen Ghauri on the runway. Besides Versace, her growing vintage wardrobe also includes archive pieces from Chanel, Armani and Dior. Kate Middleton, the Princess of Wales, kicked off the impending Coronation celebrations in truly British style on Thursday—in the pub. Not only that, she wore red, white and blue for the occasion. Kate and William popped into the Dog & Duck in Soho, London, at lunchtime to hear how the hospitality industry is prepping for events to formally mark the start of King Charles III’s reign. The couple played the part of typical Londoners for the day, catching the Tube to get to their destination. Appropriately, the pair took the Elizabeth line—named for William’s late grandmother—to Tottenham Court Road.
